About compliance webinars

Compliance webinars in Australia come from three places: the regulators who set and enforce the rules, the professional bodies whose members have to follow them, and the firms who advise on them. This page lists all three, soonest first.

AML/CTF

The AML/CTF reforms brought law firms, accountants, conveyancers and real estate agents under AUSTRAC regulation. Sessions cover what AUSTRAC's guidance actually requires, account and transaction monitoring, and how principals and boards oversee an AML/CTF program. Most count towards CPD.

Privacy and data

Rules on automated decision-making start on 10 December 2026, and the Tranche 2 reforms to the Privacy Act are on the way. Law firms and compliance trainers explain what organisations need to disclose, how the proposed changes would work, and what to do now. See privacy and data.

Tax, payroll and regulator audits

The ATO, state revenue offices and the Tax Practitioners Board run sessions on their compliance programs, and CPD providers cover ATO focus areas such as fringe benefits tax and SMSFs. They explain how reviews and audits work, how penalties apply and how to object. See tax and payroll and super.

Workplace compliance

Award compliance, wage theft, the positive duty to prevent sexual harassment, and what to expect when a safety inspector visits. See workplace relations and work health and safety.

Governance, ethics and AI

Compliance depends on governance and culture as much as on the rules. Sessions for boards, company secretaries and compliance leaders cover whistleblowing, ethics, director liability, and the compliance risks AI creates when nobody is governing it. See board governance and risk and resilience.

Sector rules and codes

Some sessions cover the rules for one sector: codes of conduct for disability workers, the Reportable Conduct Scheme for schools, mandatory sustainability reporting, and Pillar Two global minimum tax reporting for large groups. For everything tagged to the topic, whatever the industry, see compliance and regulation.

Frequently asked questions

What do compliance webinars cover?

Mostly the obligations organisations have to meet and how regulators check them: AML/CTF programs, privacy law, tax and payroll audits, workplace laws, sector codes of conduct, and the governance and culture that hold a compliance program together. Many are run by the regulators themselves, and others by professional bodies, law and accounting firms and CPD providers.

Are there free compliance webinars?

Yes. The Australian Compliance Institute runs free Insight Exchange webinars and online communities of practice, regulators such as state revenue offices and safety regulators run free sessions on their own programs, and law firms run complimentary briefings on new laws. CPD providers such as CCH Learning charge for longer technical sessions, which usually include a recording.

Do compliance webinars count towards CPD?

Often. Where a host says a session is worth CPD hours, points or units, the listing shows it. Whether it counts for you depends on your own professional body, such as the Australian Compliance Institute, a law society, CPA Australia, CA ANZ or the Tax Practitioners Board.

Who needs to know about the AML/CTF reforms?

Since 1 July 2026, lawyers, accountants, conveyancers, real estate agents, trust and company service providers and dealers in precious stones and metals have had AML/CTF obligations to AUSTRAC for some of the services they provide. The webinars listed here explain what those obligations mean in practice, from customer due diligence to governance and transaction monitoring.

How do I register for these webinars?

Registration always happens with the host. Each listing links straight to the organiser's own sign-up page, and CMD/CTRL never collects your details on their behalf.

What time zone are the times shown in?

Every time is shown in Sydney time first, with Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth alongside. Each listing also has an Add to calendar link that converts to your own time zone.

Are compliance webinars free?

Many are. Each listing shows its cost as Free, a price in AUD, or N/A when the organiser doesn't publish one. You can see only free webinars, or combine industry, topic and cost on the full list.

How often is this page updated?

Every morning. New listings are added as hosts announce them, and webinars that have finished drop off at the next update, so everything here is still to come.

Can I list a compliance webinar here?

Yes, and it's free. Send us the details and we'll check it and add it. Featured placement is also available.
