About government webinars

Government webinars come in two kinds: agencies explaining what they do, and sessions about working with government.

Agencies and regulators

State revenue offices run regular sessions on payroll tax, land tax and duties, and the ATO on federal tax. Regulators and national commissions brief on new standards and compliance, from health care safety and quality to workplace safety. These are usually free, and the best way to hear an agency's own interpretation of a change.

Selling to government

Tenders and grants sessions cover how procurement works, how to write a response and how to qualify for programmes aimed at local and small suppliers.

Trade

Austrade runs a long series of free market briefings for exporters, each on one country or sector, with the Australian trade commissioners who work there.

The public sector

For people working in government, there are sessions on board governance, risk and resilience, asset management, and health and aged care policy.

Frequently asked questions

Why attend a webinar run by a government agency?

Because the agency is explaining its own rules. Revenue offices, regulators and trade agencies use webinars to walk through how they apply the law, what's changed and what they expect, and most of these sessions are free with time for questions.

How do I learn to win government tenders?

Start with the tenders and grants sessions. State industry advocates and procurement offices run free webinars on how to find opportunities, write a response and meet local content rules, and business groups run more on bidding as a small supplier.

How do I register for these webinars?

Registration always happens with the host. Each listing links straight to the organiser's own sign-up page, and CMD/CTRL never collects your details on their behalf.

What time zone are the times shown in?

Every time is shown in Sydney time first, with Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth alongside. Each listing also has an Add to calendar link that converts to your own time zone.

Are government webinars free?

Many are. Each listing shows its cost as Free, a price in AUD, or N/A when the organiser doesn't publish one. You can see only free webinars, or combine industry, topic and cost on the full list.

How often is this page updated?

Every morning. New listings are added as hosts announce them, and webinars that have finished drop off at the next update, so everything here is still to come.

Can I list a government webinar here?

Yes, and it's free. Send us the details and we'll check it and add it. Featured placement is also available.
