About legal webinars

Legal is one of the busiest industries on CMD/CTRL. The listings come from national and mid-tier firms, online legal services, community legal organisations, and regulators explaining their own rules.

What's covered

Workplace relations leads, with sessions on the Fair Work Act, enterprise agreements, wage theft, psychosocial safety and managing misconduct. Board governance and not-for-profit sessions cover directors' duties and running an organisation well. There is also regular coverage of contracts and consumer law, disputes and debt recovery, intellectual property, privacy and data, and the legal side of tax and state duties.

Who they suit

Private practitioners use them for CPD and to keep across areas outside their own. In-house counsel use them to brief the business (see in-house legal). And business owners, HR and finance teams get the firm's reading of a change straight from the people advising on it, usually free.

Firm webinars are often short, practical and built around one change in the law. Series sessions, such as a run of employment law masterclasses, are listed individually so you can pick the parts you need.

Frequently asked questions

Do these webinars count towards my CPD units?

Many can. Most Australian law societies and bar associations ask practitioners to complete about 10 CPD units or points a year across set competency areas, such as ethics and professional responsibility, practice management and substantive law. Where a host says a session is accredited or worth CPD, the listing shows it. Your own law society's rules decide what counts.

Are these webinars only for lawyers?

No. Many are run by firms for their clients: business owners, HR managers, directors and finance teams who need to know what a change in the law means for them. The description usually says who a session is for.

How do I register for these webinars?

Registration always happens with the host. Each listing links straight to the organiser's own sign-up page, and CMD/CTRL never collects your details on their behalf.

What time zone are the times shown in?

Every time is shown in Sydney time first, with Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth alongside. Each listing also has an Add to calendar link that converts to your own time zone.

Are legal webinars free?

Many are. Each listing shows its cost as Free, a price in AUD, or N/A when the organiser doesn't publish one. You can see only free webinars, or combine industry, topic and cost on the full list.

How often is this page updated?

Every morning. New listings are added as hosts announce them, and webinars that have finished drop off at the next update, so everything here is still to come.

Can I list a legal webinar here?

Yes, and it's free. Send us the details and we'll check it and add it. Featured placement is also available.
